Our story

Moralbox was co-founded in 2013 by CEO Gordon MacPherson to help improve training and compliance across multiple industries.

Gordon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in molecular-cellular biology, he worked as a troubleshooter for the Forensic Science Service on the national DNA database in Birmingham. He moved into breast cancer research at The institute of Cancer Studies at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.

In 2006 he moved back to the North East of England to work in his family business.

Inception

He became a director of family owned health and safety training specialist company Seaham Safety Services Ltd, based in Seaham, County Durham, United Kingdom. Gordon managed the company but continued to carry out risk assessments and on site health and safety audits.

He was appalled to find out first hand how difficult it was for organisations to manage training effectively and how many training gaps clients were faced with. As a natural troubleshooter, he made it his life mission to solve this problem.

The result of over a decade of research and development is the current version of Moralbox Workforce Manager. A software system built to solve a common problem and to help reduce training gaps, injuries and death though poor training management.

Moralbox has seen many updates since its inception and continues to innovate and improve year upon year.

What’s in a name?

There is a financial and legal reason to get training management correct. But people forget about the third reason, the moral reason to protect your workforce. We believe in going the extra mile where humans are concerned. The name came about from a combination of this and the word box to denote a ‘box of things, tricks or tools’.

Growth

In 2019 Moralbox was accepted onto the Ignite programme. A prestigious national technology start-up accelerator programme.

Our vision is for Moralbox to be the place where everyone in the world keeps and shares their training achievements.

Over the years Moralbox has grown into multiple countries around the world and provides a training management solution in many industries, some we never would have anticipated. We put our customers and their workforce first and we’re here to help wherever we can.
